Default Prophecies Skill Rewards for NF/Fac characters??

Quick question I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

I am (relatively) new to the game, though I have played 'completely' through Prophecies with my first character (unlocking EVERY elite and normal for my 2 professions), am almost done with NF on the same character, and have at least done the first chunk of Factions. The main thing to note is that I have completely finished Prophecies on normal - all 25 missions and bonus's, all skill, all quests.

That being said, I would like to unlock the free skills for the other 4 basic classes that are acquired through the entire campaign. However, I do not want to start another character in Prophecies.

Can I take a character from Nightfall or Factions, and simply run them to Ascalon and start doing all the skill unlock quests for their classes?? Or will they not be available for non-Tyrian characters? I know there are some other limitations on birth places - for example, you can only ascend on your home continent. However, I want a non-Tyrian secondary from the start, and I want to start with some heroes. For example, could my nightfalls Monk/Ritualist travel to Ascalon, and run all the quests that unlock Monk skills?

I would simply test this and not ask the question if it was a matter of 10 minutes work, but to find out, I need to make a character, level them high enough to get to and survive the quest that gets you to Lion's Arch, and them run them through the Northern Shiverpeaks and Ascalon....A couple days work at least.

Anyone unlocked the free Tyrian skills in Ascalon with a Canthan or Elonian character??

Thanks!!

No quests are available for non-Tyrians prior to Lion's Arch.

Unless they changed it, there is a guy north of Kryta in the swamp who will give you free skills (depending on your profession), if you complete his quest.

Otherwise, Dougal is correct. No free skills for non-Tyrians prior to Lion's Arch.

If you wish to gain free skills for other professions, you can change your Tyrian born characters' 2nd profession to the ones you don't have (ie: if you have W/Mo and N/Me, then change W/Mo to W/R and N/Me to N/E). Then take them back to Ascolon and complete the quests for those specific professions.

Please note, some free skills are now gone (as in no longer free) because some skills are linked to quests that you may have already done with your two characters.

I'm getting my Mesmer to unlock all the free skills I can (by changing my 2nd profession and unlocking the quests for those specific professions).

Good luck!

Yeah, if you can get the quest you will get the skill reward when you complete it. I recently took my Factions-born Mesmer through the Prophecies Missions and also many quests, was nice to get the skills.
